Treating the First Signs of Aging 3

Unfortunately, aging IS inevitable. It’s a part of life. Embrace it and take these easy, doable steps to age-defy your skin.

Most women are pleasantly surprised that when they turn 30, they have fewer wrinkles than they thought they’d have…if any at all!

The truth is women in their 30’s and 40’s have benefited from revolutionary information and products we did not have just one or two generations ago. The increased use of sunscreen for one, is a positive and so is the use of proven anti-aging skincare products at a younger age.

I’ve come up with a list of early aging signs and ways to treat them. Luckily, these are relatively easy to address and manage – with the right products!

  1. Drier, dull skin:

Tightness, flaking, and fine lines may show up in your mid-30s, around the time fertility drops. The reason for this is slowing hormones and decreased cellular turnover.

TIP: Avoid the urge to exfoliate TOO much as it can make skin thinner, irritated and inflamed. I suggest exfoliating your skin every three days. Try my premium strength Exfoliating Enzyme Powder which can be used two ways: as a scrub or as a mask, if your skin is very sensitive.

  1. Fine lines, and a bit of hyper-pigmentation:

Around our 40’s, we experience fine lines and hyper-pigmentation. Repeated facial movements, genetics, sun exposure, and a loss of elasticity are the culprits here, and unfortunately, the only one that’s avoidable is the sun!

Those little freckles and sun spots are also known as hyper-pigmentation, and should be addressed sooner, rather than later. If you aren’t using sunscreen, now’s the time to add it to your routine.

My niece is 41 now and of the Jersey Shore generation, used sunbeds constantly in her mid 20’s. She lived in a cold climate and loved the sun kissed glow achieved by tanning. But now she is experiencing some  hyper-pigmentation around her eyes. This is just the beginning! She wears sunscreen religiously now and, guess what? She likes how she looks without a tan!  Believe me, there are worse things in life than being pale!

  1. Let’s talk about the neck and décolletage:

Our faces get all the attention, and yet the skin on the neck and chest is some of the thinnest on our bodies. These areas are extremely delicate and sensitive. By our 40’s the decolletage can look red, freckled and leathery if not protected. One of the best products for the neck and chest is my Cellulite Buster & Neck Firming Cream. It’s incredible!! It gently yet effectively resurfaces, brightens, softens and hydrates the neck and chest. Some of my clients also apply it nightly on their faces in addition to their neck, chest, upper arms and thighs. Another option is my Night Nutrient Cream which hydrates, resurfaces and also helps to address UV sun damage. Either product can be applied at night.

  1. Loss of volume, lines and bags under the eyes:

Many women lose fat in their faces as they get older and one of those places is under the eyes. I get loads of inquiries asking how to properly treat this area. My answer is Eye Perfect. It addresses lines, puffiness, bags, dark circles and also helps to firm the delicate skin around the eyes with incredible DePuff® and myriad antioxidants.

  1. The sagging chin and jowl:

By our late 40’s and into our 50’s, the volume in our faces shifts from the top, down to the lower half, dragging down our overall look. You may notice sagging jowls, a loose chin and the neck not as tight looking as they were – even just 5 years ago. I use and highly recommend the Facial Flex. Just 120 reps takes only 2 minutes. Do it in your car, or while watching TV. An amazing facial toning device fora great price at HollywoodBeautySecrets.com. Get the flex bands there too.

  • Astaxanthin is a powerful antioxidant 500X more potent than vitamin E. It helps the skin recover from environmental damage and stress to diminish the look of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid neutralizes free radicals and dissolves toxins in the skin. It also gently exfoliates and reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
