Weekend Tip: Reset Habits to Achieve Your Goals

Medical experts agree that taking care of our appearance can be emotionally and physically uplifting. Neuroscience experts reveal that the power of positive thinking helps banish self-defeating thoughts. We must reset our thinking habits to ensure success in our goals. Self-doubt sabotages so banish those thoughts NOW. Instead, be gentle with yourself as you set your goals and keep them in motion. After following a new routine for just two weeks, it becomes an instinctively positive action and you’re sure to achieve your wishes. Smiling also helps you stay ‘in the groove’ plus the physical act of smiling creates an instant face-lifting effect. Just look in the mirror. See what I mean?

Monday's Tip: Age-defying Coffee Grounds Mask

One of my favorite beauty secrets is my coffee grounds mask. A cup of coffee contains well over 300 antioxidants and 100's of polyphenols that can help provide many health benefits. But did you know that the grounds left from making your morning brew can help improve the look of your skin? My coffee grounds mask helps to gently exfoliate and balance the pH of the skin. Here’s what you do:

Allow the grounds to cool to room temperature. Place a piece of paper towel in the sink basin to prevent grounds from going down your drain. Rub a handful of coffee grounds on clean skin in a gentle, circular motion for about 30 seconds. Much of the grounds will fall off, but the antioxidant-rich residue will work its age-proofing magic when left on skin for 5 minutes.

Remove soiled newspaper from basin, then rinse skin with tepid water. Next tone skin using an alcohol-free and paraben-free toner, such as Anti-Aging Pycnogenol Tone, followed by your moisturizer and sunscreen, See product suggestions in the Skin Care Help Section.

Tuesday's Tip: Soothe a Burn

Treating a burn can be achieved with a simple egg white. Here’s what you do:

STEP 1: Cool the burned area with cold water or apply a bag of frozen peas (wrapped in a paper towel) on the burn. After 20 minutes, beat one egg yolk and apply on the burn. Leave on for up to an hour. The egg whites will dry, creating a protective film that is rich in collagen.

If you’re a vegan and don’t have eggs on hand, follow STEP 1, then apply a little aloe vera.
